Periodontal and implant maintenance
Periodontal treatment is treatment for gum disease. It’s a deeper clean and care plan for gums that are swollen, bleeding, infected, or pulling away from the teeth. We remove built-up plaque and tartar from around and under the gums so the gums can heal and the teeth stay supported.
Periodontal maintenance is the follow-up care after that treatment. It’s like regular servicing for your gums. These appointments help keep gum disease from coming back or getting worse. They usually involve careful cleaning under the gums, checking gum pockets, and making sure your home oral care routine is working well.
Dental implant maintenance is regular care for existing implants, including professional cleaning and checks of the gums and implant parts to keep them healthy, stable, and lasting longer
X-rays & Additional Treatment:
Sonrisa Dental does not currently provide X-rays in the mobile setting. If X-rays or treatment requiring a fixed clinical setting are needed, we work with partner dental clinics where, if appropriate, your Sonrisa Dental clinician can continue your care. This may include taking necessary dental X-rays, providing fillings, or extracting deciduous (baby) teeth.
If you require treatment outside our team's scope of practice, such as adult tooth extractions, root canal treatment, crowns, or other complex procedures, we can refer you to an appropriate dentist or dental specialist.
Our aim is to make this process as seamless as possible while maintaining continuity of your care with Sonrisa Dental wherever appropriate.
Teeth whitening
First we check that your teeth and gums are suitable for teeth whitening, then we protect your lips and gums before applying a whitening gel to the teeth. The gel is left on for a set time and may be refreshed during the appointment. The aim is to lighten stains and brighten your smile safely under supervision.
Our team currently offer Philips ZOOM Teeth Whitening.

Eligible patients can claim participating private health fund benefits at their appointment using HICAPS, helping make mobile dental care as convenient as visiting a traditional clinic.
HICAPS supports 100% of Australian private health insurers, making health fund claiming easier for patients Australia-wide.
Please note: Some health funds have restrictions on claims processed over a mobile connection. At present, Medibank and La Trobe Health do not support mobile HICAPS claiming for dental services. Members of these funds can still receive treatment with Sonrisa Dental and claim any eligible benefits directly from their health fund. We'll provide you with the appropriate receipt to make submitting your claim easy.
